No problemo! I'm not at university yet, but when I do it won't be in Belfast. I'm in my second year of A levels at BMC (History, Film Studies, Government & Politics).
I see you like Yoko Kanno. The Ghost in the shell OSTs are pure brilliance <3
:iconaaoyr:
That they are, I'm rather fond of Rise and AI Sentai atm :D Have you heard much of her Cowboy Bebop work? Much more bluesy <3

That is a cool set of A Levels, I would of loved to have been able to do Film Studies, my school was very academic in that all subjects where boring english, maths, sciences :( Our poor little art department had a hole in the roof and bucets everywhere to catch leaks T^T

Why not Belfast for Uni? Sorry that's my inherent nosiness coming through XD Well to be honest if you want to do anthing in the arts you really don't want to be in Belfast :D Love Queens to bits but it's not really artsy, shame really...

I only have the GINS OSTs in my Itunes. I haven't heard any of her other work. Do you listen to Joe Hisaishi's (the composer of most of Studio Ghiblis films) music?

My A levels are okay, history is hell though now that it's at A2 level. So much content & detail is needed (not that it wasn't like that for AS, but yeah), plus it's all on mainly the run up to and during WWII, apart from our last module. I'd rather be studying ancient history or something like that. I have quite alot of exams in January, which are for the most part resits. I can't wait till June is over and August comes, the results will be the complete opposite from last year, thankfully. :D

Haha, to be honest I wish I stayed at school or went straight on to A levels, when I went for college I'd no idea what I wanted to be. You do get alot more choice at college, and I love the environment, especially it being right in the centre. I studied travel and tourism for a year, then started A levels. Even now i'm not too sure what I want to do at university, perhaps Creative Writing or philosophy, but I have till next September to decide anyway.

I've set my eyes on London universities, I don't want to apply elsewhere. I'm not too fond of the idea of sticking around here for another 3-5 years! lol. I'll be just turned 21 when I leave, and 21 years is enough for me here :p Was Queens your first choice? Our film studies lecturer also teaches there.
:iconaaoyr:
Queen's was my first choice, I love the architecture and being a bit of an aesthetics nut, that appealed to me :D For what I wanted to do (Philosophy) they have one of the best schools there is. I did fancy going to London myself, Kings College, but due to the fact my parents and I don't get I couldn't have afforded it, can barely afford here XD A friend of mine did go to Kings College London, and I'd reccommend their ancient history course. She's actually doing a Classics Degree but is taking some of the modules, they're really good.

I'd also really reccommend Philosophy as a degree pathway (starting to sound like a prospectus) I haven't been so interested in what I'm studying since P2 creative Writing *sad* But I don't suggest you come to it with too many preconceived ideas and viewpoints, they get shot down incredibly easy once you've been in the cours for a couple of months XD

I found there was a huge jump between AS nad A2, made my life hell and made it incredibly difficult to maintain my B in Business Studies.

Yoko Kanno's other works really are a must hear and if you liked GITS OST try some of Origa's (the singer on most tracks) music, well worth a listen. Can't say I've listened to much Hisaishi's work, but I'll def check him out :)
